Watching on a Windows PC or Mac is perfect for a second screen while you work, for a home office without a TV or for connecting a laptop to a TV with an HDMI cable.
Web browsers can't play most IPTV streams on their own, so you'll use a desktop player app. Here's how to set it up and get a smooth picture.
What you need
- A Windows PC or a Mac with an up-to-date operating system
- A desktop player app that supports Xtream Codes logins or M3U playlists
- A wired or strong Wi-Fi connection
- Your login details from your activation message
Step-by-step setup
- 1
Update your computer
Install the latest Windows or macOS updates, including graphics drivers on Windows. This improves video decoding and stability.
- 2
Install a desktop player
Download a well-reviewed IPTV player for Windows or macOS from the Microsoft Store, the Mac App Store or the developer's official website. Make sure it supports Xtream Codes or M3U playlists.
- 3
Add your subscription
Your activation message contains everything you need: either an Xtream Codes login (server URL, username and password) or an M3U playlist link. Enter the details exactly as written — they are case-sensitive, and an extra space at the end is enough to cause a login error. On a computer you can simply copy and paste from the activation message.
- 4
Open the channel list and guide
Your channels appear as a list or grid. Most desktop players also show the full TV guide, which is easy to browse with a mouse and keyboard.
- 5
Go full screen or connect a TV
Double-click the video for full screen. To watch on a bigger screen, connect your computer to the TV with an HDMI cable and choose the matching input.
Choosing a good player app
Check the login types
Make sure the app supports Xtream Codes logins, M3U playlists, or both. Xtream Codes usually loads the TV guide and categories automatically, so it is the easier option when available.
Read recent reviews
Look at reviews from the last few months and from people using the same kind of device. Apps change often, and an app that works well on phones may behave differently on tablets or TV boxes.
Look for a built-in TV guide and favorites
A good player shows the electronic program guide, lets you create favorites lists and remembers the last channel you watched. Our support team can suggest an app that works well with your subscription.
Recommended settings
Turn on hardware acceleration
In the player's video settings, enable hardware acceleration or GPU decoding. It makes 4K playback smoother and keeps laptops cooler.
Increase the buffer slightly
If your player has a network buffer or caching option, a slightly larger value helps on Wi-Fi at the cost of a small delay when switching channels.
Use Ethernet when you can
A cable to the router is the most reliable connection, especially for live sports.
Troubleshooting
Choppy or stuttering video
Close browser tabs playing video, enable hardware acceleration and plug in your laptop — some laptops slow down on battery power.
No sound over HDMI
On Windows, open Sound settings and choose the TV as the output device. On Mac, choose it in System Settings → Sound.
The player can't connect
Check the login details and make sure your firewall or antivirus isn't blocking the app.
